Android 8.0 Oreo Officially Announced As Expected

After a few months of this Android 8.0 called Android O, now finally Google officially announced the name of Android 8.0 to Android 8.0 Oreo. Of course this is as expected many people who have predicted the name because it is very familiar. In addition, this also became the second time Google cooperate commercially, after first using the name KitKat for Android 4.4.

In addition, the inauguration of the Android Oreo name also coincided with the occurrence of Total Solar Eclipse on Monday (21/08/2017) night in the American region. Previously not only Oreo who became a candidate for the name of Android 8.0. Some reports have said if possible the name of Android 8.0 could be “Oatmeal Cookie”, “Orange Julius”, “Orange Sherbert”, even “Octopus”. But of all that, sweet biscuits Oreo finally selected by Google.

Not only announced the name of Android 8.0 Oreo alone, Google also has provided the latest generation Android operating system in Android Open Source Project (AOSP). Although not yet ready to roll over OTA (over-the-air), Google brags that Android 8.0 Oreo has entered the testing phase for several compatible devices, including Nexus 5P, Nexus 6P, Pixel, and Pixel XL.
